When she dropped her scrolls, Hakai helped her pick them up. I mean, who could resist the 17 year old with shoulder length hair, a humorous, optimistic and kind personality?I smile at my older sister, Ong Ying Suysuda, in her beautiful wedding clothes. A pink cloth that wraps around her chest to her stomach (seu-pah), a white satin dress, bracelets around the biceps, a golden best and last, a golden crown, right above her ears and her black hair (with a tint of brown) to represent a princess.
I helped comb her hair, while she and my other older sister, Kaew-Kinaree, helped make the clothes just perfect.
"Apsawn-Sawan?" Kaew interrupts my daydream.
I look up to see two faces staring at me.
"I think that's good," Suysuda fills in. "Can you go help Hakai?"
I nod my head and walked towards the wedding area, where Hakai, the groom is. On the way there,I think about Kaew's future. She is 11 years old and I am 2 years younger than her. She is so beautiful with her oval face, dark brown, waist length hair flowing behind her.
Then, I think about Suysuda and her love life. She met Hakai during a meeting about economy; when she thought it would be the most boring meeting she had ever experienced. When she dropped her scrolls, Hakai helped her pick them up. I mean, who could resist the 17 year old with shoulder length hair, a humorous, optimistic and kind personality?
You must think that I am much older to be saying these big words, but no, I am 9 years old and I am an author. I love to write journal entries and adventure stories. Since I'm a princess, I get my books published, but they have to be extra good to be published because . . . well . . . I'm a princess!
"Hey there Apsawn," Hakai welcomes me as he puts his hair into a high bun on top of his head.
"Hakai?" I probe. "Do you need any help?"
He laughs and motions me to come over. I obey and do a wai (both hands together formed into a triangle by the chest, and tilting head towards thumbs). I stare up at how tall he is, compared to me. He has a dark blue vest, black cloth kapris, aloth with a black cloth belt and black velcro shoes.
"Can you reach up and put my crown into my bun?" he asks.
"Picka, okay," I answer as I do another wai.
He kneels down and I stand on a bench. I fix his bun so no hair is sticking out, then I put the crown on top of his bun and clip it on.
"Thanks Apsawn," he laughs. "All the maids are getting ready, I guess they're too busy to think about the groom."
I smile my heart-grasious smile. He picks me up and sets me on his knee.
"You're so cute," he compliments. "I'd love to know who's eye you'll catch when you're older."
I look at him, confused. He gives me a slight smile, then his face turns alarmed.
"You better get dressed!" He whispers. "The wedding is in an hour!"
I jump off his leg and wave good-bye.
"Choke dee! Good luck!" I cry as I run out.
When I reached my room, I open my wardrobe containing probably hundreds of dresses and cloths for seu-pahs, 25 pairs of shoes 20 golden belts, and 20 golden crowns. I had already picked out what I was going to wear to the wedding: a white seu-pah, and white satin dress, then I would clip on a blue cape, then my golden crown with a red ruby would be on top of my head and above my ears like a headband. Also, additional accesories, such as, a blue necklace, golden belt with jewels and my shoes, blue also.
After getting on my clothes, I walk over to my bookshelf of all my books I've written. I opened the last book that I had published and read it. This book was called "Harp of Ages." I laughed at the parts where my main charactor fell in love with someone; it was Kew's idea to do that
"Apsawn, raew si, hurry!" Kaew pleads.
"Is it time?" I ask.
"Yes!"
I grab the golden plate full of lily's and rush to follow the beat of Kaew's feet. When I finally reach Kaew, I notice that her plate is filled with various kinds of flowers and it was a colorful bunch. When we got to the halls, it was filled with all the villagers. Kaew and I strided thought the large doors first, throwing the flowers to the ground, then Suysuda and Hakai almost floated through the doors and into the isles.
When they walked in, the whole room was filled with smiles. The room is so big and beautiful, that it could fit 25 elephants! When we finished throwing the flowers, we both ran to our instruments. Kaew plays the xylophone and I play the mini harp, which is 2 fooe tall. Kaew and I decided that we would play our instruments as a present for Suysuda's wedding.
As I pluck the strings of my harp, and our group of palace instrumentalists plays along, I watch mom and dad perform the ceremony for a wedding. Mom puts 3 dots into a triangle on their forheads, dad gives them cinnamon to put behind their ears, then, mom pours holy water into their hands while the hands are formed into a wai stance.
The laws are, when you marry, you must go live with the groom; so when she was about to leave, I walked to my room and got out my lily flower that didn't need water and couldn't die, and handed it to Suysuda at the same time Kaew hands a carnation to her also.
